LORMAN, MS --The Prairie View A&M volleyball team took care of business in straight sets (25-18, 25-22, 25-20) to defeat the Alcorn State Lady Braves Monday on the road at Davey L Whitney Health & Physical Education Complex.
The victory moved the Lady Panthers' record to 5-10 overall and 2-0 in SWAC play.
The Lady Panthers were led by a double-double from Kylee Owens, who registered 11 kills and 10 digs on the day. D'Mya Hill also added 12 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Leila Smalls chipped in for with 14 digs to go with three blocks from Valencia Wilder.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers took control of the set-one lead at 4-3 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-18. Prairie View A&M opened up its biggest lead, seven points, to finish off the set, totaling 15 kills along the way.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M took the second set 25-22 to quickly take a 2-0 lead. The Lady Panthers took the set powered by a solid showing on the attacking side. Prairie View A&M registered a .316 attack percentage with 18 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands two times, the Lady Panthers took control for good at 19-18 and rode that advantage to victory.
SET 3 | Prairie View A&M finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after taking set three. The Lady Panthers scored first and never trailed in the set to earn a 25-20 victory. Prairie View A&M opened up as much as a five point lead at 14-9 before finishing off the set, totaling 15 kills in the process. The Prairie View A&M offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
