PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team continues SWAC play Saturday afternoon, welcoming Mississippi Valley State to the William J. Nicks Building (Baby Dome) for a 4:30 p.m. tipoff.
The Panthers enter the matchup looking to build momentum behind the play of back-to-back SWAC Player of the Week Tai'Reon Joseph, who continues to lead Prairie View A&M on both ends of the floor. Prairie View A&M is coming off an offensive showing that featured efficiency, balance, and defensive activity.
In the Panthers' last game, Prairie View A&M connected on six of 15 attempts from beyond the arc while applying steady defensive pressure throughout the contest. Joseph scored a game-high 32 points, while Dontae Horne added 21. Cory Wells contributed across the stat sheet as the trio combined to account for 79 percent of Prairie View A&M's scoring.
Defensively, the Panthers were active and disruptive, forcing 13 turnovers and protecting the rim with nine blocked shots as a team. Wells also led Prairie View A&M on the glass, pulling down a team-high six rebounds.
Mississippi Valley State visits the Baby Dome as Prairie View A&M looks to defend its home floor and continue its push in SWAC play.
