Southern scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to break a 14-14 third quarter tie as Prairie View A&M fell to the Jaguars 28-14 on Saturday afternoon at Panther Stadium at Blackshear Field.
The Jaguars improved to 3-4 on the year and 1-2 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, while the Panthers fell to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in conference matchups.
Jahbari Kuykendall paced the Panthers rushing attack by accumulating 86 yards over the course of the game, averaging 7.8 yards per carry. Tevin Carter also added 50 yards on the ground.
Damien McDaniel hauled in seven catches for 101 yards and one score. Rodny Ojo made his presence felt in the passing game, recording five receptions for 53 yards.

Prairie View A&M responded to a 7-0 lead from Southern with a score to tie the game at 7-7 with 10:33 left in the second quarter.The Panthers proceeded to bust up the 7-7 tie with a 48-yard touchdown reception from to McDaniel, making the score 14-7. Prairie View A&M didn't score again in the game and Southern tacked on 21 more points to finish off the scoring.
