Prairie View A&M women's track and field heads to Lubbock, Texas, this weekend for the Jarvis Scott Invite, the program's final regular-season test before the Southwestern Athletic Conference indoor championships. The two-day meet, hosted at Texas Tech's facility at 2500 Broadway St., will run Friday and Saturday, giving the Panthers a last chance to sharpen lineups, chase qualifying marks and build momentum against strong regional competition.
Action begins Friday at 2 p.m. and resumes Saturday at 10:55 a.m., creating a compact schedule that will test depth and recovery across multiple event groups.
On the track, sprinter Mikiyah McDonald headlines the Panthers' entries in the short sprints. McDonald is slated for the 60 meters and 200 meters, where she already owns the second-fastest performances in school history in both events. In the hurdles, Sanai Kintchen and LaShavia Barclay will compete in the 60-meter hurdles.
The middle-distance group will be central to Prairie View A&M's plans as well, with several athletes doubling across events. Nina Story is scheduled for the 800 meters and 1,000 meters. She will be joined in the 800 by Treasure Bethea, while Story also links up in the 1,000 with Christina Fitzpatrick, Meagan Meyers and Lea Murphy. Fitzpatrick and Meyers add significant workload and versatility, each entered in the 5,000 meters and 1,000 meters, with Meyers also contesting the 3,000 meters.
In the field events, Michaela Booker is set to compete in the shot put. In the horizontal and vertical jumps, Jada Stanford will compete in the triple jump, while Kimora Maxey takes on the high jump.
With this being the final regular-season outing, results and execution at the Jarvis Scott Invite are expected to play a major role in shaping the Panthers' championship outlook and setting the tone for their SWAC indoor campaign.
