LAFAYETTE, La. – Prairie View A&M softball continues its early-season schedule this week, traveling to Louisiana for the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational, hosted by Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball, Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 12–15.

The four-day tournament will feature a strong field including Louisiana, McNeese Cowgirls Softball, Ole Miss Softball, Prairie View A&M, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Softball.

Prairie View A&M opened the 2026 season at the UIW Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, facing Manhattan, Bradley, and host Incarnate Word at H-E-B Field.

The Lady Panthers opened tournament play Friday with a split, cruising to a 7–1 victory over Manhattan before dropping a 6-16 hard-fought contest to Bradley. Prairie View followed with another split on Saturday, opening the day with a 5–3 win over Manhattan before falling in a high-scoring affair to Bradley, 16–12. The Panthers closed the tournament on Sunday, coming up short in an 8–0 loss to host Incarnate Word.

At the plate, Prairie View was paced by junior Aryana Cruz, who provided steady production during the weekend, including a 1-for-2 performance in tournament action as the Panthers continued to evaluate lineups and pitching depth early in the season.
