Prairie View A&M women's track and field team wrapped up thier indoor regular season with a strong showing at the two-day Jarvis Scott Invitational at Texas Tech University on Feb. 13-14, posting multiple top-five program marks and several promising performances ahead of next week's SWAC Indoor Championships. The Panthers used the meet as a final tune-up before heading to Birmingham, Alabama, on Feb. 21-22, and came away with momentum in the sprints, hurdles, middle distance and relays.

The hurdles group set the tone on Day 1, as Sanai Kintchen and LaShavia Barclay advanced through the 60-meter hurdles rounds. Both qualified out of the prelims, with Kintchen running 8.68 seconds and Barclay 8.77 to move into the semifinals. They each lowered their times in the next round, with Kintchen clocking 8.53 and Barclay 8.59, signaling competitive form in one of Prairie View A&M's key events heading into the conference meet.

One of the top highlights of the opening day came from the 400 meters, where Nikiyah Williams turned in a milestone performance. Williams ran 55.86, which ranks as the fifth-fastest indoor 400 time in Prairie View A&M history. The mark not only placed her among the program's all-time best but also solidified her status as a contender in the conference field. In the middle distances, Treasure Bethea and Nina Story delivered solid efforts in the 800 meters, with Bethea running 2:18.68 and Story close behind in 2:19.26.

The distance group added to the record-book impact on Day 1, as Christina Fitzpatrick produced one of the best indoor 5,000-meter performances in school history. Fitzpatrick crossed the line in 19:07.26, good for the fourth-fastest indoor 5,000 in Prairie View A&M history. The result underscored the Panthers' growing strength in the distance events and gave the squad another potential scoring option as championship season approaches.

Day 2 brought continued balance across the roster. In the sprints, Mikiyah McDonald led the way in the 200 meters with a 24.07 performance, reinforcing Prairie View A&M's depth on the sprint side. In the field events, thrower Michaela Booker added an important mark in the shot put, reaching 12.80 meters to cap her weekend in Lubbock.

The middle-distance unit turned in another pair of solid races on the second day. Story returned to place fifth in the 1,000 meters in 3:07.29, adding a top-five finish to the team's ledger. In the mile, Fitzpatrick came back from her 5,000-meter effort to post a time of 5:38.58, while Meagan Meyers led the Panther duo with a 5:28.73, giving Prairie View A&M encouraging depth across multiple distance events.

The meet concluded with a strong relay statement as the 4x400-meter squad of Bethea, Barclay, Kintchen and Williams clocked 3:47.43. The quartet's performance capped a weekend that showcased relay chemistry and individual speed, an important combination with conference relay points on the line next week. With multiple all-time top-five program marks and key athletes rounding into form, Prairie View A&M heads to the SWAC Indoor Championships in Birmingham with confidence and clear evidence of progress from the regular season.
