AUSTIN, Texas — Prairie View A&M split a Friday doubleheader in Austin, opening the day with a dominant shutout before falling in the nightcap.

Junior Kayla Adams delivered a masterful performance in the circle, tossing a three-hit shutout to power the Lady Panthers past Saint Bonaventure, 8-0. Adams (4-3) went the distance, allowing just three hits while walking three and striking out six as Prairie View A&M improved to 7-8.
The Panthers' offense erupted early, scoring four runs in the first inning to seize control. Freshman Ashlee Elizarraras provided the key blow with a two-run triple, setting the tone for the afternoon. Prairie View A&M added four more runs in the second, highlighted by an RBI single from junior Isabela Rodriguez.
Senior Kayla Zaid led the way at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Elizarraras finished 1-for-1 with a triple and two RBIs. Senior Mia Nunez also drove in two runs as the Panthers out-hit the Bonnies 8-3, swiped nine bases, and never relinquished their early 4-0 advantage.
Game 2 | Incarnate Word 9, Prairie View A&M 0
In the midday game, Prairie View A&M ran into a dominant pitching performance as Incarnate Word senior Bella Mitchell threw a no-hitter in a 9-0 Cardinals victory. Sophomore Yazmyn Stewart (2-2) started in the circle and took the loss for the Panthers, who moved to 7-9 on the season.
Offensively, Prairie View A&M was limited to few scoring opportunities, going 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. The Panthers' best chance came in the third inning when Isabela Rodriguez reached third base with two outs, but the rally was halted.
Despite drawing seven walks, Prairie View A&M was unable to generate sustained offense as Incarnate Word pitching kept the Panthers off the scoreboard to close the day.
