PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — The Prairie View A&M softball team returns to the friendly confines of the PVAMU Softball Complex on Friday, March 20, as they host Grambling State for Gun Violence Awareness Weekend in a key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
The Panthers enter the matchup looking to continue their strong offensive production and steady pitching as they build momentum in conference play.
Panthers at the Plate
Prairie View A&M has been fueled by one of the most productive lineups in the SWAC, led by SWAC Co-Hitter of the Week Mia Nunez. Nunez is hitting .347 with a team-best five home runs, nine doubles, and 26 RBIs while boasting an impressive 1.213 OPS and .764 slugging percentage.
Morgan Smith has been dominant at the top of the order, leading the team with a .487 batting average and .582 on-base percentage. Kayla Zaid (.375), Jade Uresti (.362), and Aryana Cruz (.359) continue to provide consistency, while the Panthers' speed on the bases—highlighted by Zaid's 13 stolen bases—adds another dimension to the offense.

Prairie View A&M will look to Kayla Adams to set the tone in the circle. Adams enters with a 7-4 record and a 2.55 ERA, along with 43 strikeouts in 71.1 innings pitched. Yasmyn Stewart (4-2) has also provided key innings, giving the Panthers a solid one-two punch.
