Lady Panthers Ride Momentum into Midweek Matchup in final non-conference matchup versus Stephen F. Austin

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers return to the diamond on Tuesday, March 31, hosting their final non-conference game versus Stephen F. Austin for a 3:00 p.m. first pitch at the PVAMU Softball Complex.

Prairie View A&M enters the contest with momentum after taking two of three from Texas Southern this past weekend. After dropping the opener 5-3, the Lady Panthers responded with a 3-2 win in game two before exploding offensively in the finale, securing an 18-2 run-rule victory. PVAMU totaled 15 hits in the series finale, showcasing its ability to generate offense in bunches.

The Lady Panthers continue to be powered by one of the SWAC's most dynamic offenses. Freshman Morgan Smith leads the way with a .468 batting average and a .560 on-base percentage, while also swiping 14 bases. Senior Mia Nunez has been a force in the middle of the lineup, hitting .344 with 11 doubles, four triples, six home runs, and a team-best 38 RBI. Seniors Kayla Zaid (.375) and Dyani McKinley (.364) provide consistency and speed, combining for 33 stolen bases this season.

In the circle, Kayla Adams has anchored the staff with a 2.66 ERA and an 11-6 record over 100 innings pitched. Yasmyn Stewart adds depth with a 6-2 mark, giving Prairie View A&M a reliable one-two punch.

Stephen F. Austin enters Tuesday's matchup with a balanced offensive attack led by Ellie Vance, who is batting .434 with 53 hits and 11 stolen bases. Kaylee Paul (.343) and Jamie Varga (.310) provide additional production at the top of the lineup, while Malia Jones leads the team in power with seven home runs and 27 RBI.

In the circle, Amelia Hatthorn leads the Ladyjacks with a 2.01 ERA, while Crimson Bryant has logged a team-high 73.2 innings and 75 strikeouts. Kai Hudson rounds out the pitching staff with a 3.27 ERA.

Tuesday's contest features two teams with contrasting strengths.  Prairie View A&M's speed and aggressive base running against Stephen F. Austin's balanced lineup and pitching depth. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. as the Lady Panthers look to continue their strong play at home.
