Williams collects 4 hits in Prairie View A&M's 15-4 victory over Huston-Tillotson

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Basilio Williams racked up four hits to help power the Prairie View A&M Panthers over the Huston-Tillotson Rams 15-4 on Wednesday.

Reginald Samuel (1-0) got the win out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (4-7). The right-hander went three shutout innings, giving up one hit. Jaxton Fipps also pitched well, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking none and striking out two.

In addition to his four hits, Williams had a triple and five RBIs to lead the Panthers. Corie Lockette furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks and an RBI. Michael Burroughs also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a double and two RBIs.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 3-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the third inning. Prairie View A&M got an RBI single from , scoring from third base.

The Panthers kept the Rams off the board before taking the lead in the fourth. The Prairie View A&M offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of , which brought the Panthers lead to 5-3.

Prairie View A&M held Huston-Tillotson scoreless before building their lead to 7-3 the following inning.

The Rams gained ground, closing the gap to 7-4 until Prairie View A&M added some insurance in the seventh. and each scored a run for the Panthers in the inning, bringing the Prairie View A&M advantage to 9-4.

The Panthers held Huston-Tillotson without a run before building on their lead to 15-4 the following inning. The Prairie View A&M offense piled up six runs, highlighted by a three-run triple off the bat of . The score remained 15-4 for the rest of the game, as the Panthers coasted to the win.
