HUNTSVILLE, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers got a strong performance out of freshman Basilio Williams, who collected two extra base hits in a 16-1 loss to the Sam Houston Bearkats Saturday.
Sophomore Kamar Dove (0-2) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (4-10) and took the loss.
Williams's two extra base hits were the highlight of a 2-for-4 day, and included two doubles and an RBI. Junior John Lawson furnished a standout performance as well, going 2-for-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 4-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the third inning. Prairie View A&M got on the board thanks to Will's RBI double with one out. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as Sam Houston added 12 runs to their tally on the way to a 16-1 final.
