Prairie View A&M women's track and field turned in a series of strong individual performances Friday at the 44 Farms Invitational in College Station, highlighted by personal records, season-best efforts and another productive weekend on the outdoor track calendar.
Nikiyah Williams delivered one of the Panthers' top marks of the meet, running a personal-best 54.98 in the 400 meters. Treasure Bethea added a season-best 57.62 in the same event, giving Prairie View A&M a solid one-two showing in that sprint group. Mikyah McDonald also posted a personal best in the 100, clocking 11.57 with a wind reading of 2.9, and later came back to run 23.87 in the 200.
The Panthers also produced a strong set of middle-distance results. Bethea finished the 800 in 2:15.83, while Nina Story ran 2:19.41 in the invitational section of the event. In the 1,500, Meagan Meyers recorded a 4:54.14, and Christina Fitzpatrick turned in a personal-best 18:35.35 in the 5,000 to add another notable distance mark to the team's day.
In the field events, Jada Stanford led the way with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump at 12.34 meters. Stanford also posted a season-best 5.65 meters in the long jump, giving Prairie View A&M another encouraging result across multiple disciplines.
Prairie View A&M is scheduled to compete next at the Michael Johnson Invitational on April 24-25 at Baylor University.
