PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers got a boost from Michael Burroughs, who collected three hits in a 13-7 loss to the SFA Lumberjacks Tuesday.
Reginald Samuel (0-1) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (7-28) and took the loss. Alejandro Marquez was a bright spot for the Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing two shutout innings, allowing no hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.
In addition to his three hits, Burroughs had a home run and three RBIs to lead the Panthers. Dylan Diaz furnished a standout performance as well, going 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Corie Lockette also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 12-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M scored twice, with one run coming across on Hunter Ham's single.
The Panthers kept the Lumberjacks off the board before narrowing the gap further in the seventh. Prairie View A&M scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Burroughs, which brought the score to 12-3 in favor of the Lumberjacks.

The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
