BATON ROUGE, Louisiana --The Prairie View A&M Panthers got a boost from Kayla Zaid, who collected three hits in a 3-1 loss to the Southern Jaguars Friday.
Yazmyn Stewart (9-3) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (25-15, 17-2) and took the loss.
Zaid's three-hit day led the Panthers offensively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Zaid came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as Southern scored three times over the remaining six innings to grab the 3-1 win.
