PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — The Prairie View A&M volleyball team took the court inside the Baby Dome on Saturday, hosting the University of Texas at Arlington for a competitive preseason scrimmage.
The Lady Panthers battled through five hard-fought sets, using the opportunity to test themselves against a talented UTA squad while continuing to prepare for the upcoming 2026 season.
From the opening serve, Prairie View A&M competed with energy and intensity, creating long rallies and challenging UTA throughout the afternoon. The scrimmage provided the Lady Panthers with valuable live-game experience as the team continued to build chemistry and evaluate different rotations ahead of the regular season.
Playing in front of a home crowd inside the Baby Dome, Prairie View A&M showed its competitiveness throughout all five sets, refusing to back down as the teams traded momentum from one set to the next.
For head coach Dottie Hampton and the Lady Panthers, the scrimmage served as an important measuring stick heading into the season.
With five sets of live competition under their belt, Prairie View A&M will return to practice focused on sharpening its execution, building consistency and preparing for the challenges ahead.
The Lady Panthers will open the 2026 season on Friday, August 28, 2026 against Arizona in McKale Center at ALKEME Arena, as Prairie View A&M continues its pursuit of another successful campaign.
