CORPUS CHRISTI, TX -- Prairie View lost to A&M-Corpus Christi 2-0 Sunday (Aug. 23) on the road at Dugan Soccer Stadium.

Prairie View kept A&M-Corpus Christi off the scoreboard in the first half before allowing two goals the remainder of the game. Nenah Jackson led Prairie View with seven saves. The Lady Panthers recorded seven shots in the loss, five of them on goal. Prairie View faced 15 A&M-Corpus Christi shots, nine of them on goal.
Goalkeeper Nenah Jackson anchored the Panthers' defensive effort with seven saves across 90 minutes. Four came in the first half, beginning with a stop at 2:06, as Prairie View withstood the Islanders' pressure and reached halftime tied 0-0. Jackson, added three saves after the break and allowed the Panthers to remain within one decisive play deep into the second half.
Prairie View also created chances of its own. Arianna Richards forced a save with the Panthers' first shot on goal at 27:42, and Jennifer Montes directed another attempt toward the bottom-left corner at 37:07. Analisse Cheema tested the goalkeeper toward the bottom-right corner at 49:55, while Emily Arriazola put another shot on target at 67:38 with the match still scoreless.
Analisse Cheema produced Prairie View's final threat at 83:20, but the late attempt was saved to preserve the shutout. Cheema finished with a team-high three shots, including two on goal, while Richards, Montes, and Arriazola each put their lone attempt on target.
