9/11/2026 5:17:00 PM

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — Prairie View A&M returns to action Saturday night for a historic matchup against Baylor, marking the first-ever meeting between the two Texas programs. The Panthers and Bears will meet at 7 p.m. CT at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas.

Prairie View A&M enters the contest at 1-1 following a 52-14 victory over Texas Southern in the 41st Annual Labor Day Classic this past Sunday at Panther Stadium. The Panthers overcame the Tigers in a thrilling SWAC matchup to earn their first win of the season and will look to carry the momentum into Saturday's road contest.

A Historic First Meeting

Saturday's matchup will write a new chapter in Prairie View A&M football history as the Panthers face Baylor for the first time. The meeting also gives Prairie View A&M an opportunity to compete against another major Texas program on the road.

The Panthers will look to carry the confidence gained from their Labor Day Classic victory into McLane Stadium as they face the Bears under the lights.

Panthers Coming Off Thrilling Victory

Prairie View A&M's 52-14 win over Texas Southern featured key contributions across all three phases. The Panthers made several momentum-changing plays throughout the contest, including an explosive special teams performance from Jahbari Kuykendall.

Kuykendall recorded two kickoff returns for 110 yards, including a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. His performance earned him SWAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

The Panther defense also produced a standout performance from Malachi Williams, who recorded six tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks against Texas Southern. Williams was named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.

Panthers Look to Build Momentum

With their first victory of the season secured, the Panthers will look to build on that performance against Baylor. Prairie View A&M enters Saturday's game with a 1-1 overall record and will face a Baylor team on its home field in the first meeting between the programs.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at McLane Stadium.
