PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - Prairie View A&M goalkeeper Natalie Grajeda made a save in the 89th minute to preserve a 1-1 draw with Nicholls on September 3 at Lady Panther Soccer Field. The Panthers led for nearly 20 minutes before conceding a late equalizer in the afternoon match.
The teams played a scoreless first half as both goalkeepers turned away two shots. Jennifer Montes produced Prairie View A&M's first shot on goal at 28:01, sending an attempt toward the bottom center. Amelia Olowu tested the goalkeeper again at 41:39, but the game remained scoreless going into the half. In the first half, Natalie Grajeda made 2 saves for the Panthers.
Prairie View A&M broke through at 65:41 after earning consecutive corner kicks. Emely Reyes delivered the assist to Jennifer Montes, who finished into the bottom center of the goal for a 1-0 lead. The goal capped a strong performance by Montes, who played all 90 minutes and put both of their shots on target. Mya Young nearly added to the advantage with a shot on goal at 76:09. Nicholls pulled even with a goal at 85:31. Natalie Grajeda completed the match with six saves and allowed only one goal over 90 minutes.
