STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING WEIGHT ROOM GUIDELINES

This weight room is designed for the student-athletes of Prairie View A&M University to improve their athletic performance.
Only those who are authorized may use weightroom. This includes student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and anyone given permission to use the facilities by a member of the Strength & Conditioning staff.
Appropriate workout clothing is to be worn at all times. Shirts and shorts/sweats are to be worn at all times. No jeans, khakis, polos, dresses, skirts, etc.
Appropriate footwear is to be worn at all times and shoes are to be tied. No open-toed shoes/sandals allowed.

We are proud to be Panthers and we take care of our facilities.
Only Prairie View, Purple & Gold, or neutral-colored (white, black, grey) apparel is allowed to be worn in the weightroom. No other team’s apparel will be allowed (this includes all high school, collegiate and professional teams).
Leave everything in the weightroom as you found it. Benches pushed in, weights in their assigned places, racks set at 6 & 15, and bars hung up.
Clean up any trash you see in the weightroom—even if it is not yours.
No tobacco, food/drink, or toothpicks allowed.

We are focused on becoming the best we can be and fully realizing our potential.
No sitting or horseplay allowed. We are here to work.
Accept coaching. We are a team, no one succeeds completely on their own.
Have a positive attitude. Be the kind of teammate you would want to have.
Bring focus, intensity and a championship attitude to every workout.
Win at everything you do. Every one of your opponents is working hard too. What are you doing that will give you the edge?

Strength & Conditioning Staff has final decision-making authority on anything not covered in the above guidelines.
