STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PHILOSOPHY
  1. Stay Healthy – We want our athletes where they belong—on the field, court, diamond, track, etc. It is vital that we strengthen our athletes in a way that specifically prepares them for the physically demanding positions they will find themselves in during their sport. Only in this way can we help them remain strong, stable and in control during competition, which will hopefully lead to as few injuries as possible.  We also emphasize the importance of proper nutrition and encourage our athletes to remain active and healthy not just during their college years, but for the rest of their lives.
  2. Get Faster – All of our athletes need to be fast and explosive! This may not always take the form of running, but could refer to foot speed in a tight space, quick hands, rapid changes of direction or any other movement that needs to happen fast. We try to help athletes get faster in competition by training them to be fast. We incorporate several explosive movements and drills into our programs, but the core of what we do to improve speed and explosiveness is teaching the Olympic lifts to all of our athletes. You cannot play fast unless you train fast!
  3. Get Stronger – We firmly believe that everyone is either getting stronger or getting weaker. Our strength programs demand that athletes are pushing themselves to get stronger every day. There are days meant for rest and recovery, but those days are earned through hard work.
  4. Build Mental Toughness – Our programs demand that athletes pay attention to detail and remain focused, even though their bodies might be getting pushed to the limit. It is this aspect of our programs that shows up late in competition. We strive to be the team that remains mentally tough to the end.
