Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Miriam Coggins is a Graduating Senior Kinesiology major from Atlanta, Georgia, and a graduate of Creekside High School. She chose Prairie View A&M University for its strong sense of community, rich history, and dedicated support system that helps students grow academically and personally. Combining her love for healthcare and sports, Miriam joined the sports medicine staff as a Student Athletic Trainer Aide, highlighting the football team's SWAC Championship victory during her first year on staff as her most memorable moment.

Miriam considers strong communication and continuous spatial awareness to be the most critical skills for an athletic trainer aide, finding track and field to be the most interesting sport to work with. Looking ahead five years, she plans to build a successful career in nursing, take on greater responsibilities, and potentially pursue an advanced degree, with an ultimate dream job of becoming a Sports Medicine Nurse Practitioner. Outside of her studies and sports medicine duties, Miriam enjoys doing makeup, baking, eating stuffed salmon with mashed potatoes, and listening to Megan Thee Stallion or watching Monster-in-Law. Her favorite holiday is Easter, which holds deep significance for her as a celebration of faith, hope, and new beginnings alongside her family.
