Demarques “Ray” Thompson is a right-handed pitcher for the Prairie View A&M University baseball team, wearing jersey number 35. A sophomore majoring in Business Management, Ray hails from Katy, Texas, and is a proud graduate of Sealy High School. His love for the game is matched by his dedication to achieving success both on and off the field.
When it comes to his personal interests, Ray enjoys hunting, fishing, and, of course, baseball. His favorite food is shrimp and chicken Alfredo, and he looks forward to Thanksgiving for the pumpkin and sweet potato pie. Ray is a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, drawn to the team’s strong sense of brotherhood, and he’s proud of his high school accomplishments, which include two top 50 plays in his senior year playoff games.
In five years, Ray hopes to be part of an MLB organization, with dreams of becoming a Major League Baseball player. He chose Prairie View A&M for its close-knit, family-oriented environment, which he believes will help him thrive in both his athletic and academic pursuits. His go-to walk-up song is "Fluffy" by Big Yavo, and his determination to be consistent on and off the field drives him in every aspect of his life.
