Landyn "LG" Grant is a right/left-handed pitcher for the Prairie View A&M University baseball team, wearing jersey number 19. He is currently a redshirt freshman majoring in Computer Science. Originally from Longview, Texas, Landyn graduated from National Park College before joining Prairie View.
Outside of baseball, Landyn enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, and hunting. His favorite foods include chicken and waffles, as well as steak, and his favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, where he enjoys spending time with family and eating great food. Landyn's go-to walk-up song is any track by J. Cole, and his all-time favorite movie is Toy Story. A lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, Landyn was drawn to the team after they were the first MLB team he connected with, and he has stuck with them ever since.
In five years, Landyn hopes to be in the MLB and financially stable, with a dream of becoming a professional MLB pitcher. His most memorable moment in the sport so far was giving up a home run during his first college at-bat, a humbling experience that has shaped his resilience. Landyn chose Prairie View A&M for the opportunity to continue playing the sport he loves, and he believes that mental strength is one of the greatest challenges athletes face today.
