Jacoby Walker joined the Prairie View A&M University football coaching staff in January 2025, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong track record of offensive success at both the collegiate and high school levels.
Prior to his arrival at PVAMU, Walker served as Offensive Coordinator within the Dallas Independent School District, most notably at South Oak Cliff High School, where he led one of the most dynamic offensive units in Texas high school football.
While at South Oak Cliff, Walker was instrumental in making history as the Golden Bears captured the Texas Class 5A Division II state title in 2021—the first for a Dallas ISD school since 1950. His offense averaged 42.2 points per game, combining 209 rushing yards and 232 passing yards per contest. Under his leadership, the Golden Bears amassed a 24-4 record over two seasons, qualified for the playoffs both years, and produced four Division I signees, including SMU quarterback Kevin Henry-Jennings, the MVP of both the district and state championship games.
Before his time in Dallas ISD, Walker joined the collegiate coaching ranks as the wide receivers coach at Sam Houston in spring 2022. He also previously worked at his alma mater, Central Arkansas, during the 2019 season, coaching running backs and returners and helping the Bears claim the Southland Conference title. He spent the 2017 season coaching running backs at Southern Arkansas and completed a sports performance internship at the University of Houston earlier that year. Walker also led Cy Fair Speed, guiding the team to a No. 1 ranking in Houston and a No. 3 finish in the 2017 Texas State 7-on-7 Passing Tournament.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Walker has worked as a lead instructor for The Quarterback Ranch, a developmental program for offensive skill positions, and as an account manager for Just Play Sports Solutions, a sports technology company, before fully transitioning into coaching.
A native of Texarkana and raised in Houston, Texas, Walker played collegiate football at the University of Central Arkansas, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a minor in Business in 2014. As a three-year letterman, he helped lead the Bears to a Southland Conference championship and an FCS playoff appearance in 2012, contributing on special teams and offense with touchdowns as both a running back and wide receiver.
Walker began his collegiate journey at the University of Arkansas, where he enrolled early and earned MVP honors in the 2010 Red-White Spring Game. He was part of Arkansas’ 2011 BCS Sugar Bowl and 2012 BCS Cotton Bowl squads. A standout prep athlete at Spring Westfield High School, Walker was ranked as the No. 33 dual-threat quarterback in the nation and compiled 6,000 all-purpose yards and 72 touchdowns. He earned All-District First-Team honors three consecutive years and capped his career as district Offensive MVP, an All-Houston selection, and runner-up for the Houston Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Year.
