Kerya Powell is a junior wide receiver at Prairie View A&M University, majoring in Kinesiology. He’s from Houston, Texas, and graduated from Mansfield Summit High School.

Known as “Kp,” Kerya stands 5’11” and weighs 180 lbs. His favorite entertainer is Rod Wave, and his favorite movie is Me Scoring Touchdowns. When it comes to food, he enjoys everything. The holiday he likes most is the one when he sees his mom happy.

Kerya’s hobbies include eating and sleeping. On gameday, his ritual is to keep to himself and not talk to anyone. He believes one of the biggest challenges for athletes today is staying focused.

His most memorable moment in sports is becoming who he is today and knowing where he’s going. In five years, Kerya hopes to accomplish anything he wants in his career. His dream job is to work as little as possible and free his people from their jobs.

He chose Prairie View A&M because it’s just 30 minutes from home and he likes the direction the team is headed.
