Jared Lyons enters his second season as the assistant coach for Prairie View A&M men’s basketball after being named on August 1, 2017.
Lyons organizes the day-to-day activities of the program, coordinate all travel, food and hotel arrangements needed throughout the season. In addition to assisting with administrative needs, game film exchange, and handling video coordinator duties for the Panthers.
Lyons, who played one season at the University of Houston (2005-06), has been an assistant basketball coach on the high school, junior college, and collegiate level. Last season he an assistant coach at Jacksonville College, assisting with game strategies, practice plans, player development and game film.
Prior to his stint here at PVAMU in 2016-2017 Lyons was an assistant coach at Jacksonville College, Cameron University (2015-16), Huston-Tillotson (2014-15), Fort Scott Community College (2011-12), and at Lutheran South Academy and Episcopal High School (2009-11).
Lyons earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology- Sports Administration in 2008 from the University of Houston. He recently completed his Masters in Education -Sports Administration at Concordia University (Texas) in May of 2018.
