Malachi Hazelton is a graduate student majoring in Sports Psychology, hailing from Orlando. He transferred from Bedford and now contributes his talents and experience to Prairie View A&M. Malachi plays a key role as a forward, bringing both his skills and dedication to the team.
His favorite NBA player is Jrue Holiday, whom he admires for his aggressive defense, effective role-playing, and the ability to score when needed. Holiday's balanced approach to the game serves as a significant source of inspiration for Malachi’s own playing style and mentality on the court.
Malachi’s favorite all-time movie is "Monsters, Inc.," reflecting his appreciation for creativity and heartwarming stories. He enjoys soul food, particularly baked macaroni and sweet potatoes, and values the celebration of "God’s rebirth" as his favorite holiday, reflecting his deep spiritual connection.
Outside of basketball, Malachi is a personal trainer and enjoys writing poetry, which complements his passion for sports and personal development. To him, being part of a team means having love for each member and striving to perform for the person next to you. He identifies mental health as one of the greatest challenges for athletes today.
One of Malachi’s most memorable moments in sports was winning the JUCO championship, a testament to his hard work and dedication. Looking ahead, he hopes to use his career in sports to give back to inner-city youth, aiming to make a positive impact in their lives. His dream job is to become a sports trainer and counselor, combining his passion for sports with his desire to help others. He chose Prairie View A&M because he feels it was a path guided by faith and a divine plan.
