Ahman Williams-Higgins is a sophomore track and field athlete at Prairie View A&M University, competing in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events. A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, Ahman has already made a mark in his collegiate career with personal bests of 10.90 seconds in the 100m, 22.66 seconds in the 200m, and 49.92 seconds in the 400m. His accomplishments on the track highlight not only his speed but also his dedication to the sport.
Ahman’s passion for athletics began at a young age. Growing up, he was always the fastest in his classes, and sports became a major part of his life. Surrounded by a family of athletes, track was a natural choice for him. In high school, he excelled in track and field, notably winning the district championship in the 200m and leaving the district meet with three gold medals. This moment remains one of his most memorable in the sport, marking the beginning of his commitment to track at the collegiate level.
Beyond his impressive athleticism, Ahman is also dedicated to his academic pursuits. He is currently majoring in Computer Science and plans to graduate with a degree while balancing his track career. Ahman’s ultimate goal is to win the SWAC Championship and make it to the NCAA Regionals, marking important milestones in his athletic journey. He also aspires to compete professionally while owning a successful clothing brand, with plans to achieve an astonishing career in sales within five years. In addition, Ahman envisions himself building a successful career in YouTube, combining his passion for sports and entrepreneurship.
Ahman’s hobbies reflect his creative side and his drive for personal growth. When he’s not on the track, he enjoys working out, playing video games, designing clothes, and relaxing. His favorite food is burgers and wings, and he enjoys Halloween, as it falls close to his birthday. Ahman believes that mental health and injuries are among the greatest challenges athletes face today, as they can significantly impact both performance and overall well-being.
Ahman chose Prairie View A&M because of its strong connection to Black culture, making it a perfect fit both academically and athletically. As he continues to grow as an athlete, he is committed to pushing himself to be the best, on and off the track, and making an impact in both the athletic world and the entrepreneurial space.
