Biography
Cameron “Camo” Harris is a freshman from Houston, Texas. He competes in the long jump with a personal best of 24 feet, Harris is focused on making an immediate impact and has set his sights on becoming the top jumper in the SWAC.
Harris is majoring in Marketing and was inspired to pursue track by his older brother. One of his most meaningful motivations is honoring his grandmother, whose passing fuels his drive to prove himself and overcome challenges. He considers mental hurdles to be one of the biggest obstacles for today’s athletes and remembers competing at the PV Relays in high school as a defining moment that helped shape his love for the sport.
Outside of track, Harris enjoys designing clothes, growing his personal brand, and playing basketball. His favorite movies are the Friday series, he loves pasta, and looks forward to Thanksgiving for time with family. In the next five years, he hopes to become a professional jumper while expanding his clothing line. Harris chose Prairie View A&M because it has always felt like home since childhood.
