Biography
David Barrett is a sophomore from Pearland, TX, who competes in the 200m and 400m. A graduate of Shadow Creek High School, he has personal bests of 21.73 seconds in the 200m and 49.51 seconds in the 400m. One of his most memorable moments in track came when he won his first big championship, a moment that continues to motivate him to improve and achieve new personal records this season.
Barrett is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and draws inspiration from Usain Bolt. He is driven by the freedom that track provides and believes mental health is one of the greatest challenges facing athletes today. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue his education by earning an MBA and ultimately pursue a career as a mechanical engineer.
Outside of track, David enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, exploring side quests, and watching anime. His favorite movie is Thor: Ragnarok, and he loves jerk chicken. He also enjoys summer breaks for the freedom they offer. Known for his dedication and positive attitude, Barrett strives to be the best he can in every aspect of his life and sport.
