Biography
Jayden Dawson is a freshman sprinter from Dallas, Texas, competing in the 200m and 400m. A graduate of New Tech High School, he enters his collegiate career with personal bests of 21.5 in the 200m and 48.1 in the 400m. This season, Dawson aims to improve his 400m time to 46 seconds while making an immediate impact on the track.
Dawson is majoring in Nursing and was inspired to run track by his father. One of his most memorable moments in the sport was competing in the 4x400m relay at regionals. He is driven by the excitement of performing in big arenas and earning recognition, while staying focused on staying organized and motivated—qualities he believes are crucial for athletes today.
Outside of track, Dawson enjoys playing video games and spending time with family. He loves Shrimp Alfredo, his favorite movie is Nightmare on Elm Street, and he lists CoryxKenshin as his favorite entertainer. Looking ahead, Dawson hopes to win three NCAA titles and pursue a career in HVAC. He chose Prairie View A&M because it is close to home and provides the right environment to grow as both a student and athlete.
