Biography
Jayden Pleasant is a freshman from Allen, Texas, who competes in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a personal best of 56.02 seconds. One of his most memorable moments in track was qualifying for the Junior Olympics for the first time, an achievement that fueled his passion for continued improvement. Inspired by both of his parents, Jay is driven by the desire to become the best hurdler he can be and to constantly refine his skills on the track.
A major in Architecture, Jay recognizes the challenges athletes face today, including mental health, motivation, and balancing an identity outside of sports. He approaches these challenges with determination, aiming to make progress in both his academic and athletic pursuits. Over the next five years, Jay hopes to compete and place in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championship, reflecting his long-term commitment to excellence and his ambition to reach the highest levels of competition.
Off the track, Jay enjoys video editing, drawing, and listening to music. His favorite movie is The Heat, and he admires Keke Palmer as an entertainer. He also loves Christmas for the fun and family time it brings. For this season, Jay’s goal is to run the 400 Meter Hurdles in 53 seconds, continuing to build toward his ultimate dream of excelling both on the track and in his career as a freelance architect.
