Caden Nichelle Young, also known by her nickname C.Y., is a freshman at Prairie View A&M University majoring in Biology. She hails from Rockwall and attended Parish Episcopal School before joining the softball team. As a pitcher for the team, Caden wears jersey number 42.

Softball has taught Caden valuable lessons in confidence, resilience, and persistence. Her favorite all-time movie is Love and Basketball, and she enjoys a variety of foods including enchiladas, cheeseburgers, and salads. Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday, as it allows her to enjoy her favorite dishes with her family. In her free time, Caden enjoys pitching, singing, and writing.

One of Caden’s most memorable moments in softball was throwing her first strikeout, which ignited her passion for pitching. Looking ahead, she aspires to be in medical school within the next five years and dreams of becoming an anesthesiologist. Caden was drawn to Prairie View A&M because it offers her the opportunity to play for one of the best softball teams while continuing the legacy of her parents and the medical professionals in her family.
