Aliyah Whitley is a freshman at Prairie View A&M University majoring in Kinesiology. A Houston native, Aliyah brings a fresh perspective and creative passion to the PVAMU Athletics Student-Media Team. She’s especially excited to experience college sports up close for the first time, both as a spectator and behind the lens in her photography role.

Aliyah uses Canon cameras—primarily the T8i—and edits with Lightroom to bring her visuals to life. As a photographer, she’s eager to learn new creative techniques, editing tricks, and camera hacks that will help her develop a distinctive style. One of her main goals for the season is to avoid repetition in her work and find new ways to make each shot more dynamic and original, especially when covering fast-paced sports.

Outside of media, Aliyah is involved in the Athletic Training Program on campus. She’s a former track athlete, now focused on sprinting and weightlifting, and she continues to stay active through running and fitness. In her free time, she’s exploring a growing interest in customizing clothes—adding a creative edge that matches her visual work.

Aliyah’s favorite movie is Twilight, and she loves burgers and pasta. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, not just for the celebration but also for the cozy atmosphere and aesthetic. Though she doesn’t have a favorite celebrity, she’d pick Drake if she had to choose. Her energy, creativity, and eagerness to grow make her a strong asset to the media team this season.
