Biography
Sydney Hills is a senior Kinesiology major at Prairie View A&M University, originally from Newark, California. With a strong background in sports and media, Sydney brings a dynamic skill set to the PVAMU Athletics Student-Media Team. She is passionate about using visual storytelling to highlight the energy, emotion, and celebration within college athletics.
Sydney’s creative toolkit includes the Sony ZV-E10, Ronin SC gimbal, rig, mic, and monitor, paired with editing software like Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and CapCut. Her goal for the 2024–25 season is to strengthen her editing skills, expand her portfolio, and increase the visibility of PVAMU athletics through compelling content. She is eager to learn how to tell impactful stories through both video and writing, with a focus on capturing moments that matter.
Outside of media, Sydney enjoys bird watching, playing video games, and reflecting on her experiences in sports. She previously played AAU and collegiate basketball and worked three seasons with the Golden State Warriors—an experience that brought her face-to-face with major figures like Steph Curry and Erykah Badu. She once played Rafiki in a school play and has faced and overcome multiple sports injuries throughout her athletic journey.
Sydney’s favorite movie is Iron Man 3, and her go-to meal is a good sandwich. Her favorite holiday is New Year’s Eve because it represents fresh starts and new energy. With her talent, drive, and experience, Sydney is looking forward to a season of growth, storytelling, and community impact.
