Mason “Yung Shark” Maxie is a right-handed pitcher for the Prairie View A&M University baseball team, wearing jersey number 37. A freshman majoring in Kinesiology, Mason comes from Acres Homes, Texas, and graduated from Dekaney High School. His ambition is to make a name for himself in the world of baseball while representing his community and achieving greatness.

Outside of baseball, Mason enjoys fishing and gaming. His favorite food is Chipotle, and his favorite holiday is April Fools' Day, as he loves to troll and have fun with friends and family. As a proud Houston native, Mason is an avid fan of the Houston Astros, a team he’s followed since childhood. His go-to walk-up song is “Lay It Down” by Lil Double 0, and his favorite movie is Blended.

One of Mason's most memorable moments in sports was throwing his first no-hitter, a milestone that solidified his passion and drive for the game. Looking ahead, he aspires to be named an HBCU All-American, win SWAC MVP, and eventually get drafted into professional baseball. In five years, Mason hopes to have made a lasting impact both on and off the field. His dream job is to own a youth baseball organization to give back to the next generation of athletes. Mason chose Prairie View A&M for its unmatched culture and the opportunity to grow both as a player and an individual.
