Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Amelia Olowu is a freshman from Sugarland, Texas majoring in Biology at Prairie View A&M University. She attended Elkins High School and plays as a forward for the team. Amelia’s passion for soccer started with her dad, who played the sport, and she’s driven by the feeling she gets after scoring a goal and the connection she builds with her teammates on the field.

Her favorite all-time movie is A Cinderella Story, and she enjoys eating anything Asian. Christmas holds a special place in her heart because it’s when her savior was born, making it her favorite holiday. When she isn’t on the field, Amelia likes to spend her free time playing soccer, shopping, eating, and watching romantic comedies, which help her unwind and relax.

One of her most memorable moments in soccer was earning third place at the GA nationals, a moment that stands out as a highlight in her young career. Amelia chose Prairie View A&M because of the family-like atmosphere, the team’s style of play, and the opportunities available through her biology major. Looking ahead, she hopes to be in medical school in five years while continuing to play soccer competitively. Her dream job is to become a dermatologist, combining her passion for science and helping others through medicine.
