Brooke Bowman, known as BB, is a freshman at Prairie View A&M University, where she plays as a defender and outside midfielder. Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, Brooke brings a blend of talent and enthusiasm to the soccer field, driven by a competitive spirit and a desire to continually improve.
Brooke’s passion for soccer was inspired by her cousin Lydia, who has been a significant role model throughout her life. This early influence has shaped Brooke’s commitment to the sport and her approach to competition. Her high school years were spent at Arlington Heights High School, where she developed her skills and solidified her love for the game.
Academically, Brooke is majoring in Kinesiology, with aspirations of becoming a chiropractor. In the next five years, she hopes to build strong connections in her field and continue advancing her knowledge and skills.
When she’s not on the field, Brooke enjoys a variety of activities. Her favorite movie is Princess and the Frog, and she indulges in her favorite foods, including donuts, chicken Alfredo, and any type of soul food. Christmas is her favorite holiday because she loves giving gifts, and her hobbies include shopping, taking pictures, and watching old school movies.
Brooke’s most memorable sports moment occurred during a high school game when she took a penalty kick that was initially stopped by the goalkeeper, only for the goalie to pass the ball back to her, allowing Brooke to score.
Brooke identifies mental health as one of the greatest challenges for athletes today, recognizing the importance of addressing this issue for overall well-being. She chose Prairie View A&M University for its diversity and the opportunity to explore her identity and find her place in the world.
