Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Jayden “J” Garza is a senior from Houston, Texas, majoring in Animal Science at Prairie View A&M University. A graduate of Terry High School and Murray State University, Jayden grew up in a family passionate about sports, which inspired her to play soccer. Her competitive spirit drives her to give her best on the field and constantly improve.

One of Jayden’s most memorable moments was scoring the game-winning goal against a rival club team in her first game back after surgery, a testament to her resilience and determination. She recognizes that one of the biggest challenges athletes face today is balancing sport, school, and social life without burning out, a challenge she meets with discipline and focus.

Outside of soccer, Jayden enjoys DIY crafts, coloring, and partying. Her favorite movie is The Lion King, and she loves home-cooked Mexican food. Easter is her favorite holiday because she enjoys hiding eggs for his cousins every year. Jayden chose Prairie View A&M because it embodies the culture of Houston, her hometown. In five years, she hopes to have an established job at a veterinary ER or wildlife center and plans to start her own boarding facility. Her dream job is to work as a Wildlife Center Technician.
