Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Journei is a freshman midfielder for the Prairie View A&M women's soccer team, bringing versatility to both the attacking and defensive sides of the field. A native of Duncanville, Texas and graduate of Duncanville High School, she joins Prairie View A&M as a nursing major with long-term ambitions of becoming an anesthesiologist.

Her love for soccer was sparked by watching Alex Morgan, whose skill and drive inspired her to chase the game with passion. That same love fuels her today and motivates her to compete at a high level while pushing through challenges. She believes injuries are one of the greatest obstacles athletes face. One of Journei’s proudest moments came during the ECNL National Selection Game, a high-profile event that recognized her talent and work ethic on the pitch.

Off the field, Journei enjoys shopping, crocheting, and celebrating her birthday, which she considers her favorite holiday because it is a day all about her. She is a fan of seafood and loves watching Avengers: Endgame. Looking ahead, her goals include completing her collegiate soccer career while staying on track academically to enter the medical field.

Journei chose Prairie View A&M for the strong support from the coaching staff and the welcoming atmosphere of the campus community. She is excited to grow as both a student and an athlete and looks forward to contributing to the team’s success.
