Prairie View A&M University Athletics

MaKayla Jade Police, known as KK or MK, is a junior from Gladewater majoring in Social Work at Prairie View A&M University. She previously attended Blinn College and has been passionate about soccer since she was three. Growing up, her love for the sport motivated her to push herself as far as she can go. MaKayla’s drive comes from the self-improvement skills she develops both on and off the field, as well as the meaningful connections she makes through the game.

One of her most memorable moments was scoring the game-winning shot, a highlight that reflects her dedication and competitive spirit. She believes that mental health and the desire to perform their best are some of the greatest challenges athletes face today.

Off the field, MaKayla enjoys doing hair, traveling, exploring, and DIY projects. Her favorite movie is Coraline, and she loves street tacos and sushi. Christmas is her favorite holiday because of the great weather and family time. She chose Prairie View A&M for its coaching staff and campus environment. In five years, MaKayla hopes to have earned her master’s degree and secured a good job, while still possibly continuing to play soccer. Her dream career is to become a sports social worker or forensic social worker.
