Biography

Mariah A. Loera-Urbina is a freshman goalkeeper for the Prairie View A&M women's soccer team. A Dallas, Texas native and graduate of Parish Episcopal School, she enters Prairie View A&M as a kinesiology major, aiming to pursue a career in physical therapy or sports medicine.

Inspired by her father, who went out of his way to learn how to train goalkeepers just to help her grow, Mariah developed a deep love for the position and a tireless work ethic. Her competitive drive and team-first mentality fuel her passion for the game. She thrives on the challenge of facing skilled attackers, always striving to improve and push herself beyond her limits, even when no one is watching.

One of her most memorable moments came when she competed in the Dallas Cup Championship, playing in the iconic Toyota Stadium. That experience capped off her club career with pride and inspiration. Now at PV, her goal is to help lead the team to a conference title while earning her bachelor’s degree.

Outside of soccer, Mariah enjoys reading and taking long walks. She cherishes family traditions, especially around Christmas, when she celebrates through food, faith, and reflection. Her favorite movie is The Mask, and her favorite foods include tacos and sushi. Grateful for the opportunity to grow both athletically and academically at Prairie View A&M, Mariah is excited to be part of a community that challenges and supports her pursuit of excellence.
