Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Vanessa Romero, also know as Vane, is a sophomore at Prairie View A&M University majoring in Business Management. A native of Spring, Texas, Vanessa plays as a center attacking midfielder and right wing, inspired by her best friend Nelson. She developed her skills at Langham Creek High School, where her most memorable moment was scoring the game-winning goal against Cy Ranch in the last 23 seconds during her sophomore year.

Vanessa is driven by soccer’s unpredictability and the thrilling sensation she feels right before the game starts. Outside of soccer, she enjoys lifting, running, and taking pictures. Her favorite movie is The Notebook, and she loves indulging in chicken Alfredo and French fries. Christmas is her favorite holiday, because she enjoys wearing oversized clothes and the joy of giving.

She recognizes mental health as a major challenge for athletes today and aims to address it through support and awareness. Vanessa’s future goals include joining a professional soccer club in Mexico after completing her degree and pursuing a career as a realtor and property investor. She chose Prairie View A&M for its proximity to home, the welcoming campus, and the friendly community. Vanessa Romero is committed to excelling in her sport and academic pursuits while planning for a successful career in real estate.
