Yasemina “Yassey” Harris is a center back from Jupiter, Florida, and a sophomore at Prairie View A&M University majoring in Criminal Justice. A graduate of Jupiter Community High School, Yasemina’s passion for soccer was inspired by her mother, whose love for the game created a special bond between them. She plays with heart and dedication, always motivated by the support of her biggest fan—her mom.

One of Yasemina’s most memorable moments in soccer was winning districts in high school, an experience filled with relief and celebration alongside her teammates. She recognizes mental health as one of the greatest challenges athletes face today, understanding how difficult it can be to balance sports, school, and social life without becoming overwhelmed. Yasemina’s drive pushes her to excel both on the field and in the classroom.

Off the field, Yasemina enjoys going to the beach, working out, and shopping. Her favorite movie is Crazy Rich Asians, and she loves Pernil and Arroz Con Gandules. Christmas is her favorite holiday because she enjoys giving gifts and participating in festive traditions. Yasemina chose Prairie View A&M for its welcoming atmosphere and culture. Looking ahead, she hopes to be in law school within five years, working toward becoming a sports attorney.
