Drew James Skartvedt is a junior long snapper from Azle, TX. He graduated from Azle Christian School and is majoring in Kinesiology.
His favorite entertainer is Cody Johnson, and his favorite movie is Tombstone. He enjoys steak and celebrates Christmas because it’s Jesus’s birthday and the most time he spends with family.
Drew’s hobbies include fishing, farming, and disc golf.
His gameday ritual starts with reading his Bible and praying for a safe game, then eating breakfast and drinking one cup of coffee. He listens to Christian and country music to calm his nerves, then switches to rap as game time approaches. Before the game, he walks the field and prays at the goalpost.
He believes the greatest challenges for athletes today are mental and physical health, along with time management, especially with distractions like phones.
Drew’s most memorable moment was during his sophomore year playing at Ouachita Baptist when they upset the #1 team in the country, Harding University, in a conference-deciding game.
Five years from now, he hopes to win the SWAC and a national championship.
His dream job is to be a college football strength coach.
He chose Prairie View A&M because of the culture being set by Coach Jackson and the football staff.
