Biography
Demaya Malone, a junior at Prairie View A&M University, specializes in high jump, with a personal best of 5'5". Originally from Houston, Texas, Demaya previously attended the University of Texas at Arlington before transferring to Prairie View A&M. She is currently pursuing a major in Criminal Justice.
Demaya was inspired to run track by her middle school coach and the motivational content she found on YouTube. This sparked her passion for athletics, and she is determined to improve her high jump performance each season. Her drive comes from her desire to win and work hard to see results.
One of Demaya's most memorable moments in her athletic career was overcoming an injury and coming back stronger than before. She continues to push herself to reach new heights, both physically and mentally, as she works toward achieving her goal of a personal record jump of 5'6" and maintaining consistency.
In addition to track, Demaya has a passion for selling clothes, and she enjoys the Christmas season for the gifts and celebration. Looking five years into the future, Demaya aspires to be financially successful and to work as a forensic pathologist, a dream she has held for some time. She chose Prairie View A&M because it offered her an opportunity for a fresh start after needing to make a change in her academic path.
