Kris attended Westside High School, where she was introduced to track through her volleyball coach, who also became the throws coach during her senior year. Her natural talent and dedication quickly propelled her to the top, earning her the title of #1 in her district and multiple high finishes in competitions. Her passion for track grew as she realized how much the sport allowed her to release stress and frustration while also fueling her love for competition.
One of Kris' most memorable moments in track was scoring in the Indoor SWAC Championships after recovering from an injury caused by a car accident. This was her first time ever competing at a track meet, and it marked a significant personal achievement.

Christmas is her favorite holiday because it provides an opportunity to reconnect with her family and share the joy of giving gifts.
