Dr. Christopher “Cruize” Williams serves as the General Manager for Football at Prairie View A&M University, where he oversees recruiting operations, player development, digital media strategy, and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives. A dynamic leader with a passion for empowering student-athletes, Dr. Williams brings a forward-thinking approach to collegiate athletics, blending strategic planning, compliance, and branding expertise to foster both athletic and personal success.
A proud alumnus of Prairie View A&M University, Dr. Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 1998. As a student-athlete, he was a standout member of the Panthers baseball team, earning SWAC honors and ranking nationally in stolen bases. His commitment to athletics and education continued beyond graduation, leading him to earn an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix in 2004 and a Doctorate in Education in Sports Management and Athletic Administration from Northcentral University in 2023.
Dr. Williams rejoined his alma mater in January 2025, bringing with him a wealth of experience gained through key roles at the University of Houston and Texas Southern University, where he worked across athletics operations, compliance, branding, and sports marketing. His comprehensive understanding of the evolving collegiate sports landscape has made him a respected figure in the industry, particularly in the areas of NIL education, digital engagement, and athlete development.
Originally from Beaumont, Texas, Dr. Williams is deeply committed to mentoring young men and building strong, competitive programs rooted in integrity and excellence. He is married to Tashell Williams, and together they have four children: Tamiah, Taylor, Larry, and Cadence.
