Wyrick enters his second year as the Panthers Director of Athletics Academics, his primary responsibilities include the developing and implementing a comprehensive academic advising system for all student for Prairie View A&M Athletics that positively impacts student-athletes success. He supervises all members of the academic athletic advising staff, and assesses and maintains efficient and effective operating procedures, including ensuring appropriate use of technology, ongoing staff training, and the delivery of optimal services to all student-athletes.
Before his arrival to the "Hill" on April 5, 2020 , Wyrick served as the Senior Athletic Academic Advisor for the men’s and women’s basketball programs at Texas Tech from 2016-2020. Â
Prior to his stint at Texas Tech, Wyrick served as the academic advisor for the men’s basketball team at Texas Southern University starting in 2009-10. He worked under Coach Mike Davis for four seasons from 2013-16. TSU captured four SWAC Regular Season championships and three SWAC Tournament titles during Wyrick’s time with the program. The Tigers appeared in the 2014 and 2015 NCAA Tournaments along with the 2011 and 2016 NIT.

Wyrick was an assistant coach for the Texas Southern women’s program in 2007-08. His responsibilities include co-defensive coordinator, recruiting, strength and conditioning, training liaison and budgeting.
Before coming to Texas Southern, Wyrick was the head coach at Southwestern Christian College from 1999–2007. He compiled more wins over his first two seasons than his predecessors had in 10 seasons. He helped produce several All-Conference players while competing in the Region 5 Northern Division of the NJCAA.
Wyrick played four years on the Southwestern Christian men’s basketball team. After graduating, he earned the first men’s basketball head coaching job at his alma mater.
Wyrick served as a courtside coach for the USA Basketball’s 2007 Women National Team Trials. He also was a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Kodak All-American Committee, has been nominated for the Junior College WBCA Board of Directors in 2008 and has served on several WBCA committees.
Wyrick was a Director of the National Youth Conference. In August 2006, he was a featured speaker at the 55th annual National Youth Conference of the Churches of Christ. He has been selected as a presenter for the 2017 Black Student-Athlete Summit held in Austin, Texas.
