CLEVELAND, Ohio - Players are off today before returning to practice Wednesday for the meat of their preparation for the Bengals, and the Browns' newest linebacker knows just how he's going to spend it — with his playbook.

The Browns picked Quinton Spears off waivers from the Dolphins on Sunday and put him to work Monday in practice. He is playing behind starting left outside linebacker Scott Fujita.
